Patricia Irvine - LGSM

A graduate of Guildhall, Patricia is a speech teacher based in Bangor, County Down. She is an Adjudicator-Member of the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech and a member of the Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama. As a drama tutor she has presented drama workshops to groups of all ages throughout Northern Ireland and she is tutor to North Down Youth Drama, Co-ordinator of the North Down Summer Dance-Drama Scheme and of the youth programme of the Aspects Celebration of Irish Writing in Bangor. She is past Chairwoman of the Ulster Association of Youth Drama.

Patricia's productions have won the Ulster Drama Festival, Glasgow International Festival, Dundalk International Festival and the Northern Ireland and British One-act Festivals and have also appeared as far afield as Austria, Japan and USA. As an actress Patricia has appeared on stage, television and radio and she has worked as tutor with BBC Television in Ireland, England and Scotland.

She has adjudicated numerous speech and drama events throughout Ireland and England and also adjudicated the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival on five occasions, most recently 2010, and the Sri Lanka Festival of Music Dance and Speech in 2008. She is very much looking forward to her first visit to Blackpool Festival.
